John Alvey Huggler, 73 of Mooresville passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospice House in Indianapolis; his loving family was at his bedside. John was born February 14, 1942 and his parents were Albert and Ida (Cain) Huggler; they both preceded him in death. On September 1, 1965 John was united in marriage to his loving wife, Patricia L. (Owen) Huggler and she survives.
John courageously and proudly served his country in the unfavorable conditions of the Antarctic Support Activities for the U.S. Navy; he was honorably discharged in 1966. He was employed in various positions at Eli Lilly and Co. for 28 years, retiring in January of 1994. He was a member of the American Legion Post #103, VFW Post #1111 and the Eagles #3988 all in Mooresville. John enjoyed working outdoors and grilling out. A loving husband, father and grandfather, his best time was spent when he was surrounded by his family.
Other survivors include his children, John R. (Wife: Tamera) Huggler of Brownsburg and Julie A. Worland of Mooresville; two brothers, Edwin and Steve Huggler and four grandchildren, Katlyn J. and Amanda T. Worland, Cassidy N. and Nicholas O. Huggler.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, February 5 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Pastor Chris Roberts will conduct the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
