John E. Claypool, 75, Indianapolis, died September 27, 2016, at Kindred Bridgewater in Carmel. John was born August 21, 1941, in Indianapolis, to the late Edward L. Claypool and Genevieve (Bryant) Claypool, who survives.
John graduated from Cathedral High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. As a young man, John earned the distinction and honor of being named an Eagle Scout. In addition to Indianapolis, John also lived in Florida for many years and in South Carolina for several years. Always utilizing his charismatic personality, he enjoyed a successful career in sales and also owned a window film business when he resided in Florida. John enjoyed golfing, tennis, and fishing. John’s memory will be cherished by his loving family and many friends.
Survivors include his children, Joseph K. Claypool (Cherie’) of Fishers, Amy Lukowski (Jim) of Carmel, Brian, Michael, and Emily Claypool, all of Florida; mother, Genevieve Claypool of Indianapolis; siblings, Elizabeth Koschnick (Bud) of Morgantown and Joseph L. Claypool of Corydon; grandchildren, Jaggert R. Lukowski, Lleyton J. Lukowski, and Cash Claypool.
The graveside service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2016, in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. Friends and family are invited to meet at the 34th Street gate at Crown Hill to process to the grave together.
