John E. Johnson, 76, Indianapolis, died after a long illness on July 17, 2013, in IU Health West, Avon. Mr. Johnson was born June 24, 1937, in Indianapolis.
He attended Manuel High School and was a hard worker through the years. He had been employed at City Sign, H&B, and was a chef at the TeePee restaurant in Indianapolis. John devoted 29 years as a faithful employee at Wayne Township Schools. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed by many who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Johnson; sister, Judith Ann Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte (Taylor) Johnson; daughters, Robin Lynn Johnson, Johnda Dawn Johnson, Jamie Denise Johnson, and Threasa Michelle Johnson; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather on Sunday, July 21, 2013, 2 to 4 p.m., in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. There will be an opportunity to share memories at 4 p.m. Cremation will follow the services at the Morgan County Crematory.
