John H. Fisher, 94, of Plainfield, died June 10, 2013. He was born April 1, 1919, in Indianapolis, to the late Ira and Anna (Rypma) Fisher.
John graduated from Clayton High School and proudly served in the United States Army. He worked for Eli Lilly as the Senior Processing Operator in Clinton Laboratories; retiring in 1990. After retiring John served for 15 years as a host at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He was a member of Kingsway Christian Church, Monrovia Masonic Lodge #654, and the Scottish Rite and Shrine, Indianapolis.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Mark Fisher.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley (Marley) Fisher, to whom he was united in marriage in October of 1952; nephew, Chris Fisher.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, June 13, 2013. Entombment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Rev. Shawn Tully will officiate the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home, Lebanon.
