John H. Heyob
77, of Mooresville, passed away after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family on September 28, 2017. John was born on March 18, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN to the late John and Georgia (Dillow) Heyob.
John honorably and proudly served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. After service, John married the love of his life, Jackie on June 1, 1969 and recently celebrated their 48th Anniversary.
John worked as a supervisor at Olin- Bridgeport Brass for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He attended Centenary United Methodist Church and was a member of the Mooresville Eagles #3988, Mooresville American Legion #103 and Mooresville VFW Post #1111.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Jackie (Swope) Heyob, of Mooresville, children; John E. Heyob and his wife Tracy, Linda Hofer and her husband Chris, Rhonda Alcorn, Angie Shafer and her husband Tom, a sister; Marta Kay Russell, 7 grandchildren; Maxwell Heyob, Dominick Heyob, Addison Hofer, Charlie Hofer, Jason Alcorn, Tabitha Alcorn, Daisha Ottinger and several great grandchildren.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
