John L. Poland, 56, Camby, passed away July 20, 2018, as a result of an automobile accident. John was born July 12, 1962, in Indianapolis, to the late Fred and Mildred (Soots) Poland.
John attended Mooresville High School. He worked as a cook for many years at Gray Brothers Cafeteria. Most recently, he was a cook at the Cracker Barrel in Plainfield. John was a former member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Indianapolis and had been a member of the Mooresville Eagles. He enjoyed fishing and camping. John’s generous nature will be forever cherished by his loving family.
Survivors include one brother, Dale E. (Tracy) Poland of Camby; sisters, Tammy K. (Gordon) Whitaker of Mississippi, Barbara E. Morris of Martinsville, Karen L. (Robert) Bratton of Indianapolis, and Marcy R. (Chris) Christian of Indianapolis; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family will gather to remember the life of John L. Poland on Saturday, July 28, 2018, 2 – 4 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
