John T. Henson

John T. Henson, 64, Camby, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 17, 2019. John was born October 20, 1954, in Indianapolis, to the late Tommie and Susanna (Collins) Henson.

John graduated from Mooresville High School in 1973. He worked for Central Engineering & Construction and for RR Construction for 25 years. John always knew the value of hard work. He enjoyed playing baseball as a young man. Above all, he was devoted to his family and will be remembered for his heart of gold. He had a great sense of humor that will be forever remembered by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George “Butch” Henson; sisters, Molly Jean Jackson and Joyce Ann Henson.

Survivors include children, Crystal Henson of Camby, Eli Henson and Derek Henson, both of Greenwood; siblings, Willie Lee Henson of Camby, Eva Mae Phillips of Indianapolis, Don Henson of Spencer, Charles “Bo” Henson of Mooresville, Patricia Smith of Manchester, Kentucky, Tommie Henson, Jr. of Camby, Wanda Ruth Henson of Camby, Dennis Paul Henson of Camby, Joe Henson of Mooresville, Donna Sue Henson of Camby, and Martha Jo Blankenship of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be on his birthday, Sunday, October 20, 2019, 2 to 5 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2019, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hudson Hill Cemetery, Owen County.
