John T. King Sr.
54, of Mooresville, passed away on February 14, 2019 at home after a short illness. John was born on December 30, 1964 in Mooresville, IN to the late William King and Edith (Raines) King.
John proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Indiana National Guard, retiring after 21 years of service. After returning home from the service, John met the love of his life, Dawn (Akin) and they were married on September 2, 1989 and were married almost 30 years until his death.
John was a hardworking family man who loved to tell jokes, share stories and spoil his five grandchildren. He worked as a driver for Ray’s Trash for many years, until his death. He was a member of the American Legion Post #103 in Mooresville. He will be greatly missed by all.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 30 years, Dawn (Akin) King; sons John King II, Jesse Hunt, Frank Hunt; a daughter Tiffany Hunt; two brothers William King, Jerry King; two sisters Matricia “Trish” Lee, Edith “Tiny” Sledge and five grandchildren, Amaya, Savannah, Jackson, Jazmine and Aden.
According to John’s wishes he will be cremated. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held privately at a later date.
Final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
