Joseph Delmer Guynn, 85, Centerton, passed away February 7, 2022, after a difficult battle with cancer. Joe was born May 1, 1936, in Oxford, Indiana, to the late Arlie and Gladys (Clute) Guynn.
He graduated from Fowler High School and proudly served in the United States Army. A talented musician, Joe played the guitar, bass, and banjo for various bands and also taught lessons for many years. He also did picture framing and was employed with American Can for many years. Joe was a member of the Martinsville American Legion Post #230 and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed model trains and working in his yard. Joe was a very outgoing and social person, making friends easily. His memory will be cherished by loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Guynn; sister, Georgia Guynn and Arleta Richardson.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Theresa; daughters, Cindy (Fritz) Faust and Brenda Maitland; son, Thomas Guynn; sister, Ellie McCann; three grandchildren, Clara, Anna, and Joshua Faust; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2022, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with burial at the Mooresville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #230.
