Joseph S. “Joe” Hagelskamp, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away at his home on January 10, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis on June 19, 1953, to the late Harvey and Eleanor “Peggy” (Prieshoff) Hagelskamp. Joe graduated from Brebeuf Jesuit High School in 1971. He spent over 30 years employed with O’Malia, Marsh, and Needler’s, where he was currently employed.
Joe was involved with the Knights of Columbus activities in Indianapolis. He was a sports enthusiast and especially loved Notre Dame football. Joe also enjoyed the races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway every year. One year specifically, he became newsworthy after painting the checkered flag on his driveway at the Hageldome!
In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Bella Hagelskamp; and sister, Phyllis Hagelskamp. Survivors include his daughter, Kyle (Austin) Egloff; son, Joe Hagelskamp, Jr.; brothers, Harvey (Cindy) Hagelskamp, Andy Hagelskamp, John (Gina) Hagelskamp; sisters, Kathy (Rick) Hodgson, S. Jeanne Hagelskamp, Mary (David) Cullom; grandchildren, Joseph “Tre’”, Jackson, Hannah, Hendrix, Autumn, Elizabeth, Howie; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Joe’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
