Josephine Olleman Copeland Barlow, 89, Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2019. Jo was born in Five Points (Morgan County, Indiana) on June 22, 1930, to the late Lorris and Iva (Hayes) Olleman.
She graduated from Mooresville High School in 1948. Jo was a strong lady who knew the value of hard work. She milked goats for 30 years and was especially fond of Saanen goats. She also worked for the late Milford and George Carlisle at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, where she cleaned for many years. Jo was also employed at Federal Mogul for 23 years, retiring in 1992. She was very active with the Clay Township Little League and served as the president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Jo also enjoyed traveling the sprint car circuit through the United States with her late husband, Kenny Barlow. Jo was most proud of raising five very strong and independent children. She will be fondly remembered for her great story telling abilities and a fine sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lloyd Barlow; brother, Ed Olleman; sisters, Kathryn Cross Dow and Pauline Workman.
Survivors include her children, Donna Jo Copeland, Butch Copeland, Russell Copeland, Allen Copeland, all of Mooresville and Cherri Lu Sellers of Illinois; brother, Rich Olleman of Plainfield; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
According to Jo’s wishes, visitation hours will not be observed. All are welcome to attend the graveside service at 11 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2019, in the Mooresville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan County Humane Society or to the Democratic Party of Morgan County.
