Karen S. Jarvis

Karen S. Jarvis, 61, Camby, died peacefully at home October 17, 2012. Karen was born May 13, 1951, in Indianapolis to the late Fred Eckstein and Patricia (Hill) Eckstein, who survives.

Karen graduated from Monrovia High School and attended Purdue University. She worked for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, American State Insurance, and was a cook for the Plainfield School Corporation. For more than sixteen years, Karen has worked for Dick’s Sporting Goods in the PCO Office. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mooresville and a life-member of the Indiana Beekeepers’ Association. Karen enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by her loving family and many friends.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Jarvis, to whom she was united in marriage November 27, 1971; mother, Patricia Eckstein of Mooresville; children, Angela Jarvis of Indianapolis, Janet Jarvis of Champaign, Illinois, and Michael Jarvis of Mooresville; sisters, Monica Overman (James) of Bloomington, Kathie Tooley (Larry) of Mooresville, brother, Fred K. Eckstein, II (Norrine) of Virginia; grandchildren, Danielle Jarvis, Korva Jarvis, and Oscar Huizenga.

Friends and family will gather for visitation on Sunday, October 21, 2012, 2 to 6 p.m., in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Rev. Dennis Payton will officiate the 10 a.m. funeral service on Monday, October 22, 2012, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Hospice or to the Quality of Life Fund c/o the Community Foundation of Morgan County.
