Kathleen Kay Stout Scott, 61, Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home January 13, 2013, due to a stroke brought on by complications from surgery. Kathy was born to Frank Stout and Florence (Redman) Stout, on November 29, 1951, in Indianapolis.
Kathleen graduated from Mooresville High School, Ball State University with a graduate degree from Indiana University.
Kathleen “Kathy” taught first grade at Neil Armstrong Elementary for 25 years, retiring in 2002. In 1999 she and her husband, Clyde, purchased Eagle Pines Golf Club and with the help of their sons continued to run the business.
Kathy was heavily involved in the Mooresville community for years, serving and contributing to the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce, developing junior golf programs, helping school organizations raise funds and organizing annual golf tournaments to raise funds for the Churches in Mission and a scholarship fund for graduating seniors who had worked for Eagle Pines Golf Club.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Clyde; her sons, Aaron (Darcie) with Cody and Montana and Adam (Leah) with Addison.
Friends and family will gather on Thursday, January 17, 2013, 4 to 8 p.m., in The Church at Mt. Gilead, 6019 E. State Road 144, Mooresville, and from 11 am to 12 Noon, Friday, January 18, 2013. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Terry Crist at 12 Noon, Friday, January 18, 2013. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eagle Pines Golf Junior Program, 9373 N. Country Club Road, Mooresville, IN 46158.
