Kelly C. Lane
88, of Mooresville passed away on June 22, 2021 at home, surrounded by his family. Kelly was born on October 31, 1932 in Brush Creek, Casey County, Kentucky to the late Treacie (Wethington) and Oscar R. Lane.
Having a strong work ethic, Kelly worked as a Kiln Burner for Hydraulic Press Brick until he was 82 years of age, before finally retiring. He also owned Lane Trucking for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, sitting on the front porch, eating pineapple upside down cake, watching television and singing around the house. He and his wife Piney had a strong faith and enjoyed attending Way of the Cross Church in Martinsville. He will be remembered as a selfless, open hearted, giving, compassionate, forgiving and a humble man who loved his family dearly. He will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Piney B. (Burchett) Lane and ten brothers and sisters.
Survivors include children, Debra Lane of Mooresville, Teresa Kelso (Coy) of Decatur Twp., and Anthony Lane (Robin) of Greenwood; siblings, David Lane, Damie Hance, Judy Morris, Christine Jones; grandchildren, Scott Lane, Aaron (Nicole) and Wendy Kelso, Curtis (Amber), Casey, and Brittany Lane and 14 great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather for Kelly’s Life Celebration on Sunday, June 27th from 3-5 pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 28th at 10 am in West Newton Cemetery.
