Kenneth D. Galyan, 91, Mooresville, died March 5, 2013. He was born January 22, 1922, in Bloomington, to the late Harry and Pinkie (Clark) Galyan.
Kenny served in the United States Army during the end of WWII. Kenny also served as the vice president of the Galyan Trading Post in Plainfield for nearly twenty years until the mid-seventies. He previously owned a Marathon Gas Station at the intersection of 16th and Montcalm Street and worked as a guard for the Indiana Department of Corrections. In his spare time Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending flea markets.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert, Paul, and Harold Galyan; sister, Mary McDaniel.
Survivors include his loving wife, Flora (Mink) Galyan, to whom he was married on September 27, 1941; sons, Don Galyan (Linda) of Mooresville, Steve Galyan of Plainfield; daughter, Carolyn Kasserman of Acton; brother Millard Galyan of Plainfield; seven grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from
