Lanny A. Smoot

Lanny A. Smoot, 71, of Clayton, passed away on January 11, 2013. He was born August 15, 1941, in Mooresville, to the late Glenn and Marjorie (Hobson) Smoot.

Mr. Smoot graduated from Mooresville High School. He married his loving wife, Helen (Stone) Smoot on August 19, 1962. Lanny worked for 25 years as an operation manager for Indiana Gas, retiring in 1989. Lanny enjoyed camping and playing cards, especially euchre.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Stone) Smoot; grandchildren, Shelby Lynn and Samantha Nicole Bell.

Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Lawless of Mooresville and Glenda Bell of Clayton; grandchildren, James Ryan Bell, Trent Cameron Edmondson, and Benjamin Logan Bell.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 – 8 p.m., on Monday, January 14, 2013.
