Larry Atha

Larry Atha, 62, of Plainfield, passed suddenly on June 11, 2024. He was born in Williamstown, Kentucky on February 24, 1962. Larry graduated from Williamstown High School in 1980 and earned his Bachelor of Education from Georgetown College in 1984. He worked for Bell Techlogix/Epson for 10 years. Most recently, he was a branch coordinator for Thyssenkrupp in Plainfield. The HR manager referred to Larry as the champion employee. 

Larry regularly attended Plainfield United Methodist Church. He loved shopping for clothes, cologne, and especially shoes. Larry was happy when he visited the beach or the hills of eastern Kentucky. He enjoyed eating out and cooking and baking for others. His chicken parmesan and Christmas trays filled with fudge and cookies were a couple favorites! 

Larry had a generous heart and will be remembered for his caring nature. 

He is preceded in death by his father, brother and sister-in-law; Robert Atha, Virgil and Joyce Fugate. 

Survivors include his husband whom he married on June 2, 2018, Denzil Fugate of Plainfield; mother, Judy (Delaney) Atha of Williamstown, KY; brother, Greg Atha of Kentucky; sister, Allison Atha of Mississippi; daughter, Chastity Atha of Kentucky; son, Cameron Atha of Kentucky;  sister-in-law, Betty McKinney (husband, Tom) of Martinsville; 2 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. 

In honoring Larry’s wishes, there will be no services. His cremation has been entrusted with Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Please visit www.carlislebranson.com to share a favorite memory or sign the online guest registry.
