Larry C. Jackson, 72, Mooresville, passed away July 7, 2020. Larry was born in Indianapolis on Christmas Day, 1947, to the late Charles J. and Guila P. (Sutherlin) Jackson.
Larry graduated from Mooresville High School in 1966 and attended Purdue University. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Larry enjoyed a 32 year career with Amtrak, retiring as a supervisor in 2008. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed remote control sail boats, and loved his 1972 VW Super Beetle. He enjoyed the Moody Blues and was a drummer – playing in a band called the Beasts in his early years. Larry was an ever optimistic soul who had a great ability to make those around him feel special. He will be fondly remembered for his laughter and his kind and patient nature.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Chappell) Jackson; son, Shad (Jes) Jackson; daughter, Heather (Steve White) Jackson; sisters, Myrna Dowden and Sharon Smith; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Ellie, Kavin, and Keelan.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 13, 2020, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., with Terry Crist officiating. Very respectfully, all guests will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing. Cremation will take place following services at the Morgan County Crematory, with inurnment later at White Lick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
