Leilani Victoria Ryan

Leilani Victoria Ryan, 70 of Indianapolis, passed away September 9, 2016 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis. Born September 19, 1945 in Gary, she was the daughter of the late Frances (Kurowski) Kaznak.

Leilani retired from the State of Indiana, Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation Services. Prior to relocating to Indianapolis, Leilani worked as a probation officer in the Juvenile Division of the Lake County Indiana, Superior Court. Leilani dedicated her life to advocating for people with disabilities.

Survivors include her cousins, Carol (Dennis) Karpen and their son, Evan, of Crown Point, Shari (David) Szulczewski and their son, Michael of Hammond, and Richard (Barbara) Knipp of Hobart; caregiver and dear friend, Bobbie Doumvia; her very dear friends, Mattie Tyler, David and Julie Haerle; and her companion, cat and precious baby, Tabby.

Pastor Michael Harmon will conduct a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Crown Hill Cemetery in their Peace Chapel, interment will immediately follow the service. Family and friends will gather from 12:45 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday in the Peace Chapel.
