96, of Plainfield, passed away on February 11, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Leo was born on November 11, 1926 in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late Fred Rost and Inez (Leonard) Rost.
Leo proudly and honorably served in U.S. Army, during the Korean War. A strong work ethic can be a hard thing to find in today’s world but when reflecting on the life of Leo Rost, much can be learned about what it means to work hard. Leo worked as a farmer for Rost Farms and contractor for Rost & Sons Building, retiring in 1991. He will be remembered for his integrity, his strong will and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond Rost, Fred “Chris” Rost Jr.
He is survived by his brother Richard Rost (Patricia), niece Shonda Romer, and great nephews Andrew Romer and Richard Romer.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Leo’s life on Wednesday Feb. 15th from 1-2pm, at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with services beginning at 2pm Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood.
