It is with great sadness that the family of Leroy E. Moore reports his passing on December 12, 2018. Leroy was born in Indianapolis August 15, 1930, and was raised there, California and southwestern Colorado. He served his country during the Korean War as a plane mechanic for the 339th All Weather Fighter Squadron. He worked on the first jets early on, including P38s and P51s. After his honorable discharge, he settled back in Colorado and married his wife, Ruth in Durango, Colorado. He was later a machinist, first working for Daval Corporation and later retiring from Jacobs Machine & Tool Company. A self-taught, accomplished mechanic, Leroy could fix just about anything.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Weaver.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Ruth; his sister, Angie Frazzini; five children, Stanley (Kathy) Moore of Bloomington, Richard (Patricia) Moore of New Albany, Cherie (Pat) White of Oregon, Timothy (Hillary) Moore of Alexandria, Virginia and Michael (Kathy) Moore of Mooresville; four grandchildren, Bethany (Stephen),LT. Mike Jr. USN(Alyssa), James (Taylor), and Genevieve; and three great-grandchildren, Robert, Wesley and Kennedy.
Friends and family will gather for a visitation at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Mr. Moore will be laid to rest at the Indiana Veterans Cemetery in Madison, Indiana on December 17, 2018 at 2:00pm.
