Lester G. Irons, 92, of Mooresville, passed away June 9, 2020 at home. He was born October 11, 1927, in Sullivan, Indiana, to the late John F. and Edith E. (Fields) Irons.
Lester proudly served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. He attended Victory Bible Church. Lester was an avid fisherman; he also enjoyed hunting and telling jokes. Over the years Lester had many jobs such as being a supervisor at United Oil for 15 years and retiring from Automatic Data Proc. as a courier. He was always a great provider for his family. Lester loved his family and always put them first. He would talk to his friends about his family and by the end of the conversation; they felt as if they knew his family personally. He is going to be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; and brothers, Billy, John F. Irons Jr., and Bobby.
Survivors include his daughters, Leslie (Jerry) Tucker of Camby and Margaret (Steve) Bridges of Knightstown; a brother, Hank of Indianapolis; 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.
