Lloyd Arthur Perry, 83, of Mooresville, went to be with his Lord on November 30, 2012. He was born on December 21, 1928, in Bloomington, to the late Leland and Marie (Cardwell) Perry.
Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 – 1949. He was a past member of Chapter C Motorcycle Club and rode motorcycles most of his adult life. For several years he enjoyed going to Burger King for breakfast with a group of friends he had met there. He was a past member of Valley Mills Christian Church and a current member of the Church at Mt. Gilead. He retired from Allison General Motors in 1991 after 40 years. He then worked at Hertz for 11 years, retiring in 2006.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carolyn (Mitchell) Perry; daughters, Pamela Tipmore (the late Steve) of Greenville, South Carolina, and Rhonda Van der Dussen (the late Kurt) of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Steven, Brendee, Dalen, and Karlyn; six great grandchildren and one due in April; brothers, Bud Perry (Joy) of Bloomington, Russell Perry (Donna) of Indianapolis, sister, Carol (Bush) Robertson of Springville.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Thrasher; and brother, Ernest Perry.
Calling will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m., in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Rev. Terry Crist will officiate the services.
