Lono F. Staggs, 79, Mooresville, died peacefully at home April 30, 2011. Mr. Staggs was born October 30, 1931, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the oldest son of Ester and Lerue (Johnson) Staggs.
He worked as an electrician at the former Public Service Indiana for 34 years, retiring in 1994. In addition, Mr. Staggs was a member of Five Points Baptist Church and I.B.E.W. Local Union #1393. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Shirley (Pedigo) Staggs and a granddaughter, Raeann Staggs.
Survivors include his only child, Raymon Staggs ( Renda) of Mooresville; siblings, Betty DePriest, Ginger Quilllen, Gail Johnson, Jody Lawson, Theo Theron Staggs, and Charles Staggs; grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron, and Emily Staggs; step-grandchild, Jason May.
The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Billy Gott on Monday, May 2, 2011, 3 p.m., in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville. Friends and family will gather on Sunday, May 1, 2011, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
The family would like to thank Lono’s niece, Shannon DePriest, who provided loving care during his last days on earth.
