Lorraine Glass Smock, 94, Whiteland, died peacefully at home on February 15, 2016. Mrs. Smock was born October 12, 1921, in Indianapolis, to the late Samuel Tracy and Iva Mae (Hall) Grooms.
She worked for the Indiana State Police for a number of years as a secretary, typing police reports for the officers. Mrs. Smock lived life to the fullest and was described as spunky, strong, and very independent. She had a phenomenal sense of humor and loved practical jokes. A proud homemaker, she loved to take care of her gardens and mow her lawn. She was grateful for her good health and was able to live independently until just a couple of weeks ago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Smock and one son, Stanley R. Glass.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Tracie Glass; great grandchildren, Abigail Brock and Matthew Kennedy; great great grandchild, Harmony Ray Hoover; special caregivers, Robin Kennedy and Kelly Novck.
The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call from 10:30 until service time. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
