Lowell Preston “Son” Cochran passed away at his home on July 2, 2021 at the age of 86. Born April 18, 1935, in Liberty, KY, to George Roe and Bessie (Sharp) Cochran. He married Gladys Ann Reeves on February 12, 1959. They had been married 62 years at the time of his death.
One of 13 children, Lowell worked on the family farm before he was drafted during the Korean War. He worked for General Motors for 26 years, retiring in 1992. Lowell was a lifelong member of Five Points Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee and a Deacon. He enjoyed fox hunting and was very proud of the huge garden that he grew every year. He was a devoted family man and adored his four grandsons, who could do no wrong in his eyes. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, George & Bessie Cochran; brothers, Billy, Hollis, Marvin and Charlie; and sisters Jean, Edith and Cleo.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; daughters, Melissa (Kevin) Morley and Amy (Mauro) Azpeitia; grandsons, Nickolas, Nathan, Cavan & Michael; brothers, Paul, Donald Lee and Garland, all of Kentucky; and sisters, Bernice Luttrell of Kentucky and Carol Anderson of Illinois, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lowell's Life Celebration® visitation and funeral service will be held at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 39 E. High St., Mooresville. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 6, 2021, 4 to 8 p.m., with the funeral service on Wednesday, 1 p.m., Paul Gentry presiding. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery.
