Lucille Kathern Scott Horne, 83, Mooresville, died peacefully at home on January 16, 2015. Lucille was born October 21, 1931, in Liberty, Kentucky, to the late Leslie King and Maudie (Doyle) King.
She worked for a number of years as a cook at the TA Truck Stop (formerly the 76 Truck Stop) and also had worked at Anderson Orchard. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and loved to watch her grandchildren play. Lucille had a strong faith in the Lord and will be lovingly remembered by her adoring family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Josh Scott, Sr. and her second husband, Chuck Horne; brothers, Delbert and David King; sister, Dorothy Atwood.
Survivors include sons, Josh “Junior” Scott (Pam), Dallas Scott (Faye), Herman Scott, Hershell Scott (Barb), Richard “Ricky” Scott (Debbie), daughters, Connie Runyon (Stephen), Brenda Poe (Darrell), Bonnie Clevenger (Keith), Loretta Hamilton, Cynthia Dowell (Jesse), and Kathern Geralds; brothers, Cecil King, Curtis King, Donald King; sister, Izetta Scott; 30 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren.
Visitation with Lucille’s family will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015, 3 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Sister Cheryl Crum will officiate the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
