Lucy Maxine Gooch, 81, of Mooresville, passed away the morning of Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis. Born May 27, 1935 in Scottsville, Kentucky, Lucy was the daughter of Harvey Warner and Lillian Pearl (Loyd) Frost; her parents preceded her in death. On May 17, 1952 Lucy was united in marriage to her loving husband, Lowell Edwin Gooch and he survives.
Lucy was a loving and caring homemaker for most of her life, she enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her family. She owned and operated Mom’s Closet on State Road 144 in Mooresville for several years.
Along with her parents, Lucy is preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters and her grandson, Charles Gooch.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Lowell; three daughters, Deborah Jean Gooch of Mooresville, Nina Nelline (Benny) Kindle of Mooresville, and Kathy M. (Steven) Capp of Mooresville; seven grandsons, Joshawa, Jason, Joseph, Justin, Christopher, Chad, and Benji; 33 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and one on the way.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Lucy Gooch on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery in Monrovia.
