Madonna Woodall, 83, Mooresville, died peacefully December 13, 2014, surrounded by her beloved family. Madonna was born July 9, 1931, in Indianapolis, to the late Leffel and Iona (Grimes) Goss.
Madonna graduated from Fillmore High School in 1949. She worked as a cashier at the Mooresville Kroger for 27 years. Madonna was a faithful member of both the First Christian Church in Mooresville and Canaan Baptist Church in Fillmore. In addition, she was a member of the Monrovia Homemakers Club, enjoyed playing euchre, and having breakfast with her breakfast club on Fridays. Always active in her community, Madonna volunteered at St. Francis Hospital and, as a cancer survivor, she served as a support group leader for those dealing with cancer. She was an avid Pacers fan and always cared enough about others to send many cards and letters for various occasions. She will be missed by her loving family and countless friends she touched through the years.
Madonna was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Donald R. Woodall, who died in 1976 and her siblings, Charles Goss, Raymond Goss, and Pauline Merritt.
Survivors include her four daughters, Shirley Woodall of Indianapolis, JoEllen “Jodi” Lloyd of Mooresville, Teresa Neu (Dale) of Indianapolis, and Glenda Beck (Dennis) of Mooresville; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild that is on the way.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014, at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, 3 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Stilesville Cemetery.
