Magdalene Anna (Schumacher) Turner

June 16, 1928 — January 7, 2018

Magdalene Anna (Schumacher) Turner, 89, passed away peacefully January 7, 2018, after a lengthy illness. She was born June 16, 1928, in Duisburg, Germany, to the late, Wilhelm Theodor Hubert and Luise (Bishcof) Schumacher.

Mrs. Turner was a graduate of Indiana University Kelley School of Business and was a Certified Public Accountant. She was employed as an accountant for many year at AMAX Coal Company and during her retirement years, she was an accountant for Scott Pattern Company. She was a life member of the Indiana University Alumni Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mrs. Turner enjoyed classical music and always looked forward to meeting with her fellow AMAX Coal retirees. Always a learner, she enjoyed reading and always keeping her mind active. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.

She married the late Leonard Turner on October 15, 1951, in Karlsruhe, Germany. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1982. She was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Abby Redenbarger.

Survivors include two daughters, Karla (David) Miller and their daughter, Kallie; Karen (Terry) VanCleave and their children, Melissa (Eric) Harrison, Elizabeth (James) Redenbarger, Terry “TJ” (Whitney) VanCleave; eight great grandchildren.
