Malva Goss Foster, 101, Mooresville, entered into the presence of the Lord April 22, 2014. Malva was born the oldest child to the late Omar and Ella (Holmes) Goss on November 29, 1912, in Eminence. She was preceded in death by siblings, Ila, Eugene, Neva, Daniel, Margaret, and Lela. She married the late Edwin Foster on November 26, 1935.
Malva attended Eminence High School until the fire that caused her to graduate from Martinsville High School in 1931. She was a homemaker most of her life, entering the workforce after her two sons were in school. She worked for IPL in the cafeteria and later retired from Best Foods. She was a longtime member of River Avenue Baptist Church, where she also taught Sunday school for years. She was then a member of Westview Baptist Church. She was a good and faithful Servant of the Lord.
She is survived by two sons, Frederick (Sharon) and Edwin (Toni); 5 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2014. Burial will be in Washington Park North, Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westview Baptist Church.
