Marcia L. Gerlach – Stapert, 82, of Martinsville, passed away November 8, 2020. Marcia was born March 3, 1938, Upland, Indiana, to the late George and Effie (Shetterly) Ellis.
Marcia attended Zion Baptist Fellowship Church. Marcia was a medical assistant at Gosport Nursing Home for many years. She enjoyed to read, do embroidery, and make baby quilts. Marcia was in Homemakers Club for 40 years and was Vice President of the P.T.A. She is going to be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She is preceded in death by grandchild, Devin; great grandchildren, Victoria and Isaiah; daughter-in-law, Cathi Brown; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Stapert; sons, Byron, Loren (Rhonda), Darrell, and Emory (Shelly) Brown; daughters, E. Diane (Bill) Menchhofer and Rosina Webb; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two great - great grandchildren; over a 100 in total and counting.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Marcia’s life on Saturday, November 14, 2020, 1 to 5 p.m., at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will begin promptly at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Zion Baptist Fellowship Church: 7520 State Road 142, Martinsville, Indiana 46151. Burial will follow at Cunot Cemetery, Cloverdale, Indiana. All guests attending visitation and/or services will be required to wear a mask at all times in an effort to promote a safe environment.
