Margaret Collins Hall, 69, Monrovia, passed away peacefully at home March 6, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Hall was born July 26, 1943, in Elkhart, Indiana, to the late James and Mary Ann (Duehmig) Collins.
She graduated from Danville High School and from IUPUI, where she earned her degree in nursing. Peggy worked at St. Vincent Hospital and later for a number of years at Morgan Hospital in Martinsville. She was a devoted member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where she attended daily Mass and also participated in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. A caring person, she delivered meals for Meals on Wheels and also enjoyed quilting and sewing. She will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Collins.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Melvin R. Hall; daughter, Kathryn Sweatman (Chad) of Gosport; step-daughters, Denise Shelton (Eddie) of Athens, Georgia, Kristie Campbell (Greg) of Noblesville, and Becci Ferguson (Darryl) of Indianapolis; sisters, Rosemary Lowe of Coal City, Helen Disney of Danville, and Monica Collins of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Erin, Erika, Kori, Jacob, Kaitlin, Elizabeth, Natalie, Jill, Jaclyn, and Miranda; great grandchildren, Hayden, Rilee, and Noah.
Friends and family will gather from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 10, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Recitation of the Rosary will begin shortly before 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 11, 2013, 10:30 a.m., in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Mooresville. Burial will follow in Gosport Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to St. Francis Hospice.
