Margaret Louise Somers, 95, Mooresville, passed away peacefully August 14, 2017. Mrs. Somers was born February 23, 1922, to the late Fred Hadley and Elsie Marie (Davenport) Pope. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Elijah Pope and her husband, William “Bill” Somers.
Margaret was an Avon lady, did Welcome Wagon, and worked for Drs. Van Brocklyn, Karpel, and Bevins. She had also been a hostess/cashier at the Airport dining room. She always enjoyed taking care of her garden and then sharing the vegetables with whoever wanted them. She loved flowers and her rescued cats. She and her husband, Bill, lived on an island in Florida for several years before traveling in their motor home during retirement years.
Survivors include children, Patricia (Bob) Turner, Bill Carson, and Rick (Linda) Carson; grandchildren, Shawn Carson and Jennifer (Mike) Carr; one great grandchild, Mason Carr.
Calling hours will not be observed. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017, 11 a.m., in the White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
