Marilee Gabriel

Pastor Marilee Gabriel, 64, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully, December 2, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Marilee was born October 3, 1953, in San Gabriel, California, to the late Clem Andrew Towner and Louise (Loggins) Towner, who survives.

She graduated from Sonoma State University and later from the Earlham School of Religion in 2001. For a number of years, Marilee worked in a chaplaincy program in Minnesota. For the past several years, she was the pastor of Valley Mills Friends Meeting.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Andy and Greg Towner; sister, Terri Behrens.

Survivors include her mother, Louise Towner; siblings, Steve, Sharon, Stasia, Pegi, Jennifer, Toni, and Danette; a host of devoted and loving friends from the Friends Church.

A musical tribute will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017, in Valley Mills Friends Meeting, 6739 W. Thompson Road, Indianapolis. The memorial service to celebrate the life of Pastor Marilee Gabriel will follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Phil Gulley will officiate. Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
