Marilyn "Mae" Aultman

September 17, 1933 — June 10, 2022

Marilyn Mae (Miller) Aultman went to meet Jesus on June 10, 2022. Her husband of 37 years was by her side, singing Blessed Assurance as she took her last breath. She was born on September 17, 1933, to Gertrude (Pahmeier) Miller and Charles Ivan Miller in Sandborn, Indiana. She was a gifted musician and, at the age of 14, she became the church pianist. She graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1951 and studied music at Indiana University before marrying her high school sweetheart, Joe Dillon, in 1952. Over the course of the next 30 years, she led the music department at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church, where she played both the organ and piano. As a musician, her talents were always in demand, and she accompanied many musicians and musical productions at Decatur Central High School. For many years, she played piano for the community sunrise service under the direction of Betty Fields. In addition to teaching piano, she was involved in the Decatur Township Homemakers Club. In 1985, she married Ray Aultman and they lived in Zionsville, and West Milton, Ohio before making their home in Clayton where they lived for 27 years. She served as pianist for both the United Methodist Church in Monrovia and First Baptist Church of Clayton until January of 2022.

Marilyn loved the outdoors and trips to the family cabin in Brown County were treasured memories. She was thankful to have taken a bike ride on her 88th birthday just last fall, had great badminton and volleyball skills, loved to garden and never tired of hearing about her grandchildren or great grandchildren. She drew strength from her faith and passed God’s love on to all who knew her. Her ability to bring people together remains one of her biggest strengths. She loved opening her home to gatherings of friends and family. Whether it was to have coffee cake, make a puzzle or just catch up, she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Miller and a sister, Barbara Lucas

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Ray Aultman and her children, Connie (Steve) Senescall, Debbie (Mark) Keutzer and Nancy (Russ) Bond; grandchildren, Sean (Samantha) Senescall, Stephanie (Douglas) Moore, Gregory (Kali) Keutzer and Becca (Jeremy) Anderson; great grandchildren, Dylan and Audrey Senescall, Samantha and Tanner Moore, Will & Teddy Keutzer, Ezra Senescall; along with her brothers, Kenneth (Patricia) Miller, Glen (Malta ) Miller; brother-in-law, John Lucas and sister-in-law, Joellen Miller.
