Marjorie Ann Wagoner, 94, Martinsville, formerly of Speedway, passed away April 5, 2021. Mrs. Wagoner was born November 18, 1926, in Indianapolis, to the late Harry E. and Minnie (Degener) Barnhart. She married the late Robert D. Wagoner on March 28, 1953, and he preceded her in death in 2013.
Mrs. Wagoner graduated from Southport High School. She retired from Speedway High School, where she worked in the cafeteria. Marjorie was very strong in her faith and was a longtime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the American Legion Post 500 Auxiliary. She volunteered for more than 20 years at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, flowers, ceramics, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was strongly devoted to her family. While she dealt with health issues through her later years, she never complained. She was Nana to many and will be fondly remembered for her loving and compassionate ways.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Wagoner; sister, Wilma Pieper.
Survivors include two sons, Keith (Debra) Wagoner and Kerry (Pam) Wagoner; sister, Doris Dobbs; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, April 9, 2021, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The graveside service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Pastor Ross Tyler will officiate.
