Martha Lou (Swope) Monday, 80, Mooresville, died May 6, 2011, in Miller’s Senior Living Community, Mooresville. Mrs. Monday was born May 5, 1931, in Martinsville, to the late Charles and Daisy (Moore) Swope.

Mrs. Monday graduated from Martinsville High School. She worked for 25 years for Recording & Statistical. She later worked for Olin Brass for a number of years, before retiring. Mrs. Monday was a very loyal member of Calvary Baptist Church in Plainfield and previously was a member of Hope Baptist in Indianapolis. She enjoyed caring for others, especially her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Monday, Jr.

Survivors include her son, David Monday (Roseann) of Mooresville; brother, C.A. Swope of Clayton; sister, JoAnn Eubanks of Kentucky; grandchildren, Christine Slocum and David Monday; great grandchild, Gus Monday.

Friends and family will gather on Thursday, May 12, 2011, 5 o 8 p.m., at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2011, in Calvary Baptist Church, 1290 S. Center St., Plainfield. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
