Martha June Peach, 95, passed away on September 13, 2024, at Cumberland Trace in Plainfield. She was born in Petersburg, Indiana on June 19, 1929, to the late Fred and Alice (Benjamin) Wolven. June graduated from Petersburg High School. She became a legal secretary for Judge Dillon in Petersburg before deciding to stay home full-time to raise her son, David. June reentered the workforce after David was grown and ran Nance Shoe Store in Petersburg in the late 1970s. She then worked for Wyatt Rauch Attorney before retiring as the office manager for the Roads and Drainage Department in North Port, Florida.
June was a First United Methodist Church member in Vincennes and Mooresville and the district leader of United Methodist Women. She was passionate in prayer and rich and deep in her faith. June was also part of the Business and Professional Women’s organization. In her free time, she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, and reading.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by three husbands, Paul Nance, Robert Teague, and Fred Peach; brothers, Stan and Denver Wolven; and sister, Joyce Stone.
Survivors include her son, David Nance (wife, Anita); brothers, Dan Wolven (wife, Arlene) and Mike Wolven (wife, Linda); sister, Shirley Willis; grandchildren, Stacy Nance (husband, Jack Britton), Paul Nance (wife, Katie), Spencer Nance; and great-granddaughter, Elzadie.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, October 4th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Mooresville First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 am at church. Inurnment will take place at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, Indiana at a later date.
