Mary R. (Asa) Cummings

Mary R. (Asa) Cummings, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away December 23, 2018. She was born December 5, 1929, in Loda, Illinois, to the late Sydney Wilmer and Magdelene Josephine (Demuth) Asa.

Mary and her husband, Ralph, who preceded her in death, co-owned M and R Cartage for 40 years; she was the secretary treasurer of the business. Mrs. Cummings was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed reading and cooking but most of all spending time with her family. Her warm loving nature will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her three sons, Robert Lawrence Cummings, Harry Stevens Cummings, and Ralph Lawrence Cummings Jr; a brother, Paul E. Asa; and a sister, Angela Daisy Sprehe.

Survivors include her two daughters; Barbara (James) White of Indianapolis and Carol (Jack) Schubert of Avon; sisters, Wilma Ann Herzog of Mooresville, Sidney Marie Faulk of Hazelwood, and Betty Jean (Rick) Knight of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and several great - great grandchildren.
