Mary Sue F. Cardone, 88, Indianapolis, formerly of Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away July 19, 2018, in Meadow Lakes. Mrs. Cardone was born August 1, 1929, in Portsmouth, Virginia.
She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth in the class of 1947 ½. She was a homemaker for many years while her children were being raised. Following their graduations from high school, she worked for more than 20 years for Suburban Propane Company. When she moved to Indiana, she became a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Plainfield. She also enjoyed being a part of the community at Crestwood Village West where she enjoyed the many social activities. She also kept her mind sharp and active by working puzzles on a regular basis. Mary will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida (Beck) Farris; husband, Alexander Cardone; son, Jay Campbell; brothers, Billy and Bobby Farris; sisters, Shirley Taylor and Jean Overman.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Campbell of Virginia; daughters, Shelley (Dick) Fields of Plainfield, and Linda Spradlin of Virginia; grandchildren, Michael (Sheila) Tackett, Courtney Wilkinson, and Leslie King; great grandchildren, Bethany Tackett Mitchell, Heather Brown, and Taylor Brown; her Beloved Cardone Family; and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will begin at 12 Noon, Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 1001 Concord Drive, Plainfield, Indiana 46168.
