Michael J. Zinn, 70, of Mooresville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 28, 2017 at his home. Born in Noblesville, Indiana, Mike was the son of the late Bill Zinn and Joann (Jamison) Zinn; his mother survives and resides in Greensburg, Indiana. On January 6, 1995 he was united in marriage to his wife, Darlene R. Zinn and she also survives.
Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indiana Institute of Technology in Ft. Wayne and worked various places throughout the course of his 40 plus year career; he retired from Labeco in 1999. After retiring, Mike enjoyed working on his computer and woodworking.
Survivors include his mother Joann Zinn of Greensburg; his loving wife, Darlene Zinn of Mooresville; two sons, Michael J. Zinn, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Noblesville, and Mark J. Zinn and his wife, Keena of Indianapolis; three daughters, Amy P. Murphy and her husband, Brian of Fishers, Kati A. Zinn of Indianapolis, and Kim J. Zinn of Carmel; two brothers, Scott and Nathan Zinn of Greensburg; two sisters, Jeri (Ron) Stout of Avon, and Mindy (Bob) Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia; 16 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Mike Zinn on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
