Myrna Beth “Rosey” Michael, 71, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully in her home on July 12, 2024. Mrs. Michael was born February 13, 1953, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, to the late Ottie and Muriel (Stewart) Oldham. She married Doug Michael on February 7, 2000, and he survives.
Rosey was a proud and capable homemaker through the years. She enjoyed various crafts, including crocheting and needlepoint. An amazing baker, Rosey was known for her Christmas cookies. Many Christmastimes, she baked over 100 dozen cookies, not including the banana bread, pies from scratch, and fudge that she would make to share with family and friends. It was certainly Rosey’s way of showing her love and affection for others. She exercised her green thumb by nurturing those struggling plants back to good health. Rosey had a passion for children and animals, especially dogs and cats, and was known for her collection of elephant figurines and nutcrackers. Rosey and her brother could rarely turn down an opportunity to find the next treasure at a yard sale, Goodwill, or a flea market. Her memory will be forever cherished by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Hefferan, and a brother, Ottie "Snuffy" Oldham, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Doug; daughters, Shawna (Robert) Russell and Jesse L. (Gary) Swartout; brothers, Michial Oldham and Darrell (Carol) Oldham; sister, Lori Smallwood; grandchildren, Kayla Altwies, Logan and Shawn Russell, Alyssa Swartout, Brionna Durbin; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Avrie, and Evelyn.
