Nancy Mae Ritter

 77, of Brownsburg, passed away on February 19, 2024 at IU West Hospital in Avon. Nancy was born on February 5, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Oren Wheeler and Luella (Miles) Wheeler.

Nancy was a proud 1965 graduate of Mooresville High School. Nancy enjoyed visiting and entertaining family, friends, and neighbors while sipping on the occasional margarita around her swimming pool. She also enjoyed playing cornhole, gardening, trying her luck at the casinos, cheering on her nephews at their sporting events, and going to cruise-ins in her ’32 Plymouth Coupe at Kroger’s in Mooresville parking lot. She will be remembered for her carefree, sweet, caring and kind personality, who didn’t know a stranger. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Ritter.

She is survived by her sisters, Linda (James) Bryant, Subrena Flock; her brother, Thomas (Jill) Wheeler; her nieces and nephews, Don Bryant, Mark Bryant, Jon Bryant, Tracy (Andy) Leininger, Erick (Jordan) Wheeler, Brittany Bourne and great nieces and nephews, Maggie Bryant, Callie Bryant, Trenton Bryant, Carter Leininger, Stokely Leininger, Jonah Wheeler, Hattie Wheeler, Nora Wheeler, and Paige Bourne.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Nancy’s life on Monday, February 26^th from 11am-2pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with services beginning at 2pm Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Waverly.
