Nancy Rogers, 88, Monrovia, passed away February 26, 2021, at Meadow Lakes, where she had been a resident for several years. Mrs. Rogers was born January 6, 1933, in Hendricks County, to the late Cecil and Grace (Ferguson) Hobson.
Nancy graduated from Clayton High School and later earned a Bachelor’s degree from IUPUI. She worked as a second grade teacher for 20 years at Monrovia Elementary, retiring in 1992. Nancy was a member of Belleville Bible Church. She was an accomplished knitter and avid reader. Nancy enjoyed being “in the know” and will be fondly remembered by her loving family and friends for her soft and tender heart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold; her sister, Grenda Watson; her great grandson, Caden Rogers.
Survivors include her only child, Danny (Cynthia) Rogers; two grandchildren, Beth (Joe) Goins and Eric (Mandy) Rogers; great grandchildren, Jacob Rogers, Benjamin and Kaylee Goins, Cooper and Parker Rogers.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, 2021, 1 to 2:30 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. A graveside service will begin at 3 p.m., Thursday, in the Clayton Cemetery, with Pastor Jack Elliott officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Cure SMA or to the Belleville Bible Church.
