Nannie Idelia Craven, 69, Mooresville, died February 6, 2013, in Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Martinsville. She was born February 27, 1943, in Indianapolis, to the late Elmer W. and Mildred C. (VanHoy) Craven.
Nannie attended Mooresville and Monrovia High Schools. She worked for 22 years at Automotive Armature. Nannie was a member of the Mooresville Church of God and frequently attended Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church, Martinsville. A very well-known face around town, Nannie mostly enjoyed walking outside and talking to people. She had a heart of gold and had never met a stranger.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Carolyn Kohen.
Survivors include her brother, Harris W. Craven (Kim) of Martinsville; nephews, Roger W. Craven of Martinsville and Jeff Dwigans of Ashburg, North Carolina; nieces, Ramona Mason and Melody Searcy both of Martinsville; many great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Waverly. Rev. Matt Satter will officiate the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church, Martinsville.
