Norma Jean Baker
89, of Monrovia, passed away on March 3, 2023 at St Francis Hospital Indianapolis, following a brief illness. Norma was born on December 12, 1933, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Eva E. Evans (Cooper).
Family was everything to Norma. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren every chance she could. Additionally, she enjoyed reading, tending to her flowers, feeding her hummingbirds, and connecting with nature. She loved being outdoors. Norma retired from Western Electric after 30 years. Upon retirement she worked at Miller’s Merry Manor, in Mooresville, for over 8 years. She will be remembered for her kindness, and her loving, caring heart. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Norma is survived by her daughters Marty Dodson and Lydia Chandler, grandchildren; Wayne (Kelly) Dodson, Tracy (Gary) White, Amanda Gibson and Jason Gibson, great-grandchildren; Kadie, Anna, Anthony, Jeremy, Courtney and Megan, and great-great grandchildren; Tinsley, Oakleigh, Luke, Dominique, Desyre, Sebastyan and one on the way.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Donald Baker, sons; Jerry and Frederick Wert and sister; Martha Conger.
Family and friends will gather for Norma’s Life Celebration® visitation on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with services starting at noon. Burial will take place at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Bargersville, Indiana.
