Opal Mae Terry, 82, Camby, died September 3, 2013, in Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond. Mrs. Terry was born August 7, 1931, in Oneida, Tennessee, to the late Sylvester and Elva (Smith) Blevins.
Mrs. Terry graduated from Oneida High School. She worked for many years for Bridgeport Brass, RCA and later retired from Air Craft Electronics. She was a faithful member of Five Points Baptist Church and also attended Way of the Cross Baptist Church. A loving and caring person, she was strongly devoted to her family. Mrs. Terry enjoyed family get-togethers, cooking, canning, and motorcycle riding. She will be missed by her loving family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Arthur Terry and brothers, Clarence and Andrew Blevins.
Survivors include her children, Cheryl Terry of Plainfield, Patty Ashley (Bruce) of Mooresville, Alan Terry (Debbie) of Mooresville, and Jimmy Terry of Camby; brothers, Oakley Blevins (her twin brother) of Plainfield, and Robert Blevins of Tennessee; sisters, Zora Winchester of Plainfield and Charlene Allen of Plainfield; grandchildren, Mike, Teresa, Shelby, Chelsea, Chris and Cody; great grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Ashley, Mike Jr., Jada, Cameron, and Cayden; great great grandchildren, Mariah, Calvary, and William.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate the service, and cremation will take follow at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
