Palmer David “Dave” Wilson, age 79, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013. Born March 29, 1934 he was the son of the late Palmer Charles and Marjorie (Daily) Wilson. His son, Michael David Wilson and his sister, Barbara (Wilson) Neitzel also preceded him in death.
Dave attended Speedway High School and graduated in 1952. An outstanding athlete, he made all county team in football in 1951, along with all county, all sectional and all mid-state in basketball in 1952.
Dave proudly served our country in the Marine Corp reserves for 4 years and the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper at Ft. Bragg, NC. From 1955-1994 he served in the Indiana National Guard, attended flight school and served as a helicopter pilot until 1994.
He joined the Speedway Police Department in 1956 and served for 20 years. He started Speedway Karate Studio in the early 1970’s, served as chief pilot for Indiana Medical Association for 15 years in the 1990’s, and started Hoosier Connection Limousine Company in the early 2000’s.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Linda (Jennings) Wilson; his four nephews, Tony and Todd Erwin; Mark and Dana Neitzel.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with calling from 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mooresville Cemetery. You may visit www.carlislebranson.com where you may share a story with the family or sign the guest book.
