Patty (Ward) Hubbard

Patty (Ward) Hubbard, 91, Monrovia, passed away December 19, 2019. Mrs. Hubbard was born March 21, 1928, in Morristown, Indiana, to the late William Eugene "Gene" and Mary (Barber) Ward.

She attended Mooresville High School and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1946. Patty continued her education at Indiana University, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She worked briefly for Carter Lee Lumber before becoming a fulltime mom and loving wife, caring for her husband and three sons. Patty was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and attending various theater productions and forums with her girlfriends.. She was a member of the Monrovia United Methodist Church. She loved spending time at her Colorado home where many family memories were created through the years. Some of her favorite pastimes in Colorado included hiking, feeding the hummingbirds, and spending time with their many Colorado friends. In addition to spending time in Colorado, she and Jim loved to travel and were especially fond of the western states. Patty will be fondly remembered by her loving family.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Truax Hubbard and brothers, Billy Ward and Jim Ward.

Survivors include three sons, James Hubbard of Indianapolis, David Hubbard of Monrovia, and Tom (Diane) Hubbard of Monrovia; brother, Bob (Barbara) Ward of Plainfield; four grandchildren, Julie (Erik) Aho, Jill (Ryan) Fitzpatrick, John (Katy) Hubbard, and Cory Hubbard; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Lydia; Adelyn, Hazel, and Emily; Joseph and Cecilia.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 23, 2019, 11 am to 1 p.m., in the chapel at
Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Pastor Gordon Esterline will officiate the 1 pm memorial service on Monday. Inurnment will follow at West Union Cemetery, Monrovia.
